Before We Came Home To Rain....

...we flew in search of sun and dear friends.
All the way to Madrid, where we warmed our bones for a few days, and walked our feet off, ate seafood and sipped cold drinks, toasting the now Official Teenager that is Our Only Girl.
It was probably the first time she has ever had her parents all to herself for more than a few hours!
A brief but welcome escape...

...before we came home to rain....

Churros, love 'em!had them in the market early one morning last August, and that pic brought back a glorious memory!
Glad you had a nice break, and you brought the sunshine back here with you!

Great pictures, as always. And now I'm really hungry looking at that one.

I always find it bittersweet to look back at pictures of my only girl as a baby and now to see her as a succseeful young woman working in the big city...I still want to protect her and keep her safe...always a mum!

Hurrah for the newly Official Teenager, and what a great way to mark such an important transition.

Precious and special time together, Ciara. Come rain or shine, she'll still be your girl.

I hope you recharge your batteries in the sun. They grow up so fast don't they?

Lovely to catch up on your blog today. I remember well that solstice post from last year, and believed in the thoughts therein.
My eldest will be in Spain this summer, too. Looks wonderful...and such a treat for your girl (and yourselves).
