And now, it's that time of year again!
(I forgot my camera, so please forgive the slightly dodgy iPhone photos!)
It's such a rare treat here in Ireland to leave the house at 7.30 am and for the temperature to be a lovely 17ºC, or to walk out of the cinema at 11pm at night into a balmy 22ºC. Really. It is rare. And all the more to be celebrated when it does happen.
So even though I am up to my eyes, as they say, and have a list of a million and one things to be doing, when we get weather like this it really is a case of dropping everything and heading off down the coast to maybe this beautiful beach, or another, and embracing the sun while it's here.
I do hope the sun is shining wherever you are, and your weekend is shaping up to be a wonderful one.
And if it is, then do what we did and take some time out. That list of things-to-do will still be there when you get back, won't it? It's not going anywhere without you!
Have a splendid Sunday!

It was a beautiful day, wasn't it? And how right of you to take off to the beach!Looks like other people had the same idea.
Have a lovely weekend.
Gorgeous looking day, Ciara. I still get that sense of beach day on certain days here, that remind me of childhood forays to Wicklow beaches. Looks like all the children had a ball. I love the photo of the smallest one marching to catch up with his siblings.
Yes! Beach trumps all! And what a perfect beach day from the looks of it! So glad you're having lovely weather. We are, too. Played tennis and went walking in between responsibilities today, and tomorrow there's the flea market! Yippee! Hope you're well, sweet friend. xoxo
Hi Ciara. Just wanted to drop you a note to say how much I enjoy reading your blog. It's so beautiful.
Your photos are beautiful. I'd love to visit Ireland, however little the sun shines. We're so spoiled by sun here in Los Angeles that I would welcome a bit of rain!
How very true!
Wise words...everything will still be waiting for us when we get back so better to ENJOY 1st!
LOVE, PEACE

Hello Ciara
the photo in your last post is alive with love...you look so happy...
and today on this sunny day in Ireland the kids are alive with summer energy. I have to admit that I did shiver when you said 17C as that is a cold winter's day temp for me...
Happy days
Great photos..I had no idea it got that warm in Ireland...enjoy the sunshine!
It's exactly the same in Wales! Although working in a kitchen is absolute hell for me, I've woken up early today to enjoy some sun before work! Hope you're having a great time!
Beautiful pictures camera phone or not! I can imagine just how it feels to be there looking at these and I love the those rocks! Ireland is a beautiful place :) xx
That's funny Ciara, I was thinking when I saw your pictures on boofcake earlier that the photos have a 70s quality to them and wondered had you used some special effect to get that look! Just iphone!
honestly, I am nearly desperate for that weather. there seems to be no sign of it here... thanks for sharing yours!
xx
Your photographs are the very essence of summer! Enjoy your lovely weekend!!
Mmm...that first beach day of the season. There's nothing quite like it and it feels the same no matter how old you are. Lovely photos, as always.
The sun has shone on us too this weekend, you have the added bonus of being close to the sea, I have enjoyed your images, especially your photographs below.
Summer fun. How quickly we forget the harsh winter. Hurray!

One of my favourite beaches in the world. Love the photo's, reminds me of my childhood summers. Just curious - did you happen to go there with my friend Becca?? - I saw her pics (taken on the same day) on facebook and think you featured in one of them...
Thanks for all the lovely comments. I love how the beach, and this one in particular for so many fellow locals, is such a source of fond memories!
Sadhbh, that's gas that you know Becca! Yes we were there with her and her beauties! Was a lovely day, amidst lovely company.
I'd admire these lovely happy photos were I not so busy twirling my hair just so for your VIP dinner party.
