And Something Is Then Found!

I cannot tell you how overwhelmed I am with the sweet and supportive comments from all you lovely readers on my last post. All you loyal and stouthearted readers! How could I possibly bow out now?

I have been disappointed so many times over the years when favourite bloggers have called it a day, and while I admire them for taking that step when they feel like that, I think, deep in my heart I know I am not there yet.

I do love all that this wonderful world has brought to me, things a lot of you mentioned, like the ability to take tiny moments and slow them right down as they whirl by you, to seize hold of them for just a second, to take that snapshot, to imprint it in your mind's eye and tuck it away into that little corner of yourself where you hold the precious keepsakes of your days. And I love all the amazing people like you that I have met, the beautiful corners of the world I get to peek into thanks to you all taking the time to share it with us.

So for now, I am content to maybe just step back a little, and take some time to put to rights all the things that have not been as right as they should be, like my children's health, and my house, to get Christmas all wrapped up and under the tree. To spend some time by the fire with my dear ones as the year draws to a close, and reflect on the coming new year.

I will continue posting when I can, and what do you say I'll probably find I am unable to stay away.

Blogging is for ME first and foremost and if some people come for a peak...so be it!! That's the way it should always be in order for you to get the most from the journey of the blog...for you and your sanity. A bloggers life can be filled with many emotions and these emotions can be difficult to express but when they are expressed in a way that only blogging can achieve....that is what makes it all worhtwhile!! Keep jotting down those thoughts and all will be well in your world!!

I'm sorry I was not one of those loyal readers who commented on your last post, which I did mean to read when I got a chance - I'm living my own whirlwind. But today, I did read it and admired that you can even make art out of being in the doldrums! It's so easy to get caught up in the business of life, especially with growing children, but I think my blog helps me to make sense of it all, exercise my writer's muscles, and take some time for my own creative process. That being said, I only blog once a week, generally on Tuesdays, and it takes the pressure off but gives me a reasonable goal to accomplish each week. These things do fluctuate and you have been doing your blog for three years, right? Life has undoubtedly changed in those three years, just as mine has, and we have to keep making adjustments to accommodate the evolution of family life. I think your blog is a bright spot in the universe and I would be very sad indeed to see it go, but, well, we evolve too, don't we, and must take stock every once in a while of our reasons for doing things, too. Sorry to ramble on so much. I hope you have a lovely Christmas! xo

Good call, Ciara. I look forward to catching a glimpse of your life, by the fireside, by the sea, in the company of those you hold dearest.

We would be SO sad if you stopped, because you are clearly an inspiration to so many people, us included. We only started our blog about a year ago and we love it, but we know it can be a burden, too. Please do it when you can...but do it when you WANT to. XX

Oh, I'm glad that we can still visit with you and your 'dear ones'. Blogging is kind of a 'spare time' fun and that kind of time isn't always easy to find .

Please do continue! Yours is one of my favorite blogs, and I get such joy from reading it (and looking at the pictures you post with it). Life is busy, and it's ok to step away for a time to focus on other things--especially at the holidays. But if you enjoy writing it 1/2 as much as we enjoy reading your posts, keep on blogging!
Merry Christmas to you!

I'm with mom on this! My little ones are not so little now and it's nice be reminded of life with the energy of growing children. I do enjoy your posts about life and your family and getting chance to see bits of your world in your photos. All good wishes to you and yours for Christmas and the new year.

Looking forward to your wonderful words and pictures.
Sometimes one feels the need to blog every day, or just once a week, once a month....but we will be waiting patiently.

I'm glad you decided to stay. Yes, life is a whirlwind sometimes. And I've had my blogbreaks, but having a blog helps me notice the small details that are full of beauty or fun or love or all.
And I love visiting blogs like yours. I don't always have the time, but then I spend a morning like today to catch up. And therefor: Happy birthday, merry Christmas and and all the best wishes for your new year :)
