A Week Of Pictures.

An incredible week, weather-wise, with Autumn creeping in in tiny unseen increments that somehow we still perceive. Somehow. Is it in our bones? Our nose? Our skin?
Somehow, we know. Although we still awake some mornings to hot summery days that bathe us in sunlight, we still pause and take note of the gathering birds that flock and swoop and dive in the air above us, and the sudden cloudbursts that come literally out of the blue.
And then, the grey days that drown in unrelenting rain, falling down the hills with nowhere else to go, reminding us that yes, Autumn is on it's way.

But Summer she is tenacious.

Tenacious? Yes, I would say so. Edward is simply refusing to go outside today. It's like a steam bath!
Love that skeleton photograph!!

luscious colors! I especially love that quilt under the game. Delightful.

What a sky, Ciara. It's as though those clouds have been torn apart and set adrift.

Tenacious she is, but still autumn will win over soon, and you're right, we can feel it. I think we feel it with every bone, every piece of skin, every cell. We see it and smell it too.
You've some amazing photos this time, I partcularly love the blue one, the sea so still, and this last one ofthe parted clouds. I agree with Martin about how they look.

These dying days of summer heat have such a sad feel to me. Not my sadness because after the heat, cool is very welcome. No, it's the sun's sadness at getting ready to journey south again. It's the ripening fruit and endings of summer friendships.

Thanks for the beautiful photos. I always enjoy coming to visit with you.

That boy looks so much like your husband. Your Eldest I take it? He looks like a very curious fellow!

I love this play, this tug-o-war right at the end of summer. Today here was warm and intensely sunny in the morning, cloudy and cooling but sticky in the afternoon, and tonight has the slight chill of late September. It's moody weather, and I love it!

Your photos are gorgeous, as always. This last one of clouds is just breathtaking. xoxo Gigi

The contrast between the first two photos made me laugh. The first one of the water, so serene and deep... and then... skeletons?!? :)

The first photo of the sea - incredible! I would love to see Ireland. Thanks for sharing!

I was in that same museum a week ago, but my unpoetic heart never thought to fit the experience into the summerscape, but rather looked urgently above all the Spanish heads for the blessed green EXIT. You've placed 'tenacious' perfectly.

Oh, I know what you mean, there's definitely a chill that wasn't there before... and the short evenings!

Your photographs are always sooo special Ciara. Beautiful!
I can hear the birds have changed their song and yes Autumn indeed has her leafy toe in the door.

As a child I was always in awe when my mother said fall is coming. Hoow did she know I wondered? She could feel it in the air and the animals talked to her. I see now that knowing the seasons will pass is a part of life that makes us hold dear each one as it slips away. Beautiful photos. What a diverse summer you are having!
Thanks for visiting a leaving a comment. Having a blog and sharing parts of ourselves takes a liitle bit of courage.

Great photos. I love that museum. I always feel like I am stepping back in time into Victorian Dublin or London and I might just bump into Darwin around the corner.

We wish summer was a little more tenacious in Scotland. It is freezing here today. But still lovely. FABULOUS photos as ever...xx

Such beauty. So true. We haven't had much of a Summer here, so I am enjoying these last few days of it. In the evening, I can feel the Autumn breezes sneaking up on me. xx

Lovely shot from Kiliney hill.
And I did hear they had opened the Dead Zoo. But it seems you cannot walk the upper gallery.
