Oh, Sun! Are You Still Here?

We've had a week of yet more sunshine, and it seems as though we may actually be having a proper summer here in Ireland this year. It happens every few years or so, and it's such a pleasantly unexpected surprise that I'm not sure we realise for quite some time...

So here's to a wonderful week of being outdoors,

of picnics and bonfires, and more to come.

Of hanging out with friends in beautiful places,

of some days doing nothing at all,

and some days of doing rather a lot.

And beach days. Let there be plenty of those.

Timeless ease that replenishes and rejuvenates as only the sea can.

And as the countdown has begun to our annual party that takes place next weekend, and my list of things-to-do-before-the-party does not seem to have grown any shorter, I do hope I manage to keep things at a pace that includes plenty of time to just chill out together.

And then it's only a few days until school ends for the summer.

We cannot wait...

Such fun times. I just love this time of year... lazy Summer days, carefree play and the anticipation of a well deserved break from school. YAY for Summer!

I had a Sprite myself today! But a Diet one, I'm afraid. I agree that the sun is glorious, but I do wish the humidity would disappear!

The wonderful sun indeed! It's not easy to abandon it for the computer. You're clearly making the most of our summer with a fine blend of energy and loitering. Did you get an email from me lately, I wonder, looking for your address, or could it have fallen into your junkmail?

Oh very beautiful photos. I can feel your sunshiney joy through them.
It's funny, I live in the Caribbean where this year my tiny island had an usually scorching dry season. We were all eager for rain as our water reserves were down to 21% of what they were supposed to be at this time of year. When the rains finally came, i ran about taking photos of trees being blown about in the wind and rain pouring down on windows. :)

Happy Solstice, Ciara.

Beautiful pictures (Except of that one of me--the big lump. Still if that picture doesn't jump start me to lose weight, I don't know what will.)

I love these sunshining summer evenings....

See you Saturday!

OH! Beautiful Aden! You are a shining star. You are!

See you in the morning! C x

Mise, dear! I did! Thank you for the reminder. This is the trouble with having my email on my phone. Easy to check, but tedious to type with one giant finger on such a tiny pad, hence the tendency to forget to go back and answer them all! So sorry, off to do that now...

we all need our dose of sunshine, it seems that we have had such washout summers recently. I hope the sun continues to shine on your back door!

Yum I like the look of the
ice-lollies, funny :) in Australia we call them Ice blocks...LOL

Heres to a nice long Summer over there in Ireland. I remember When I was living in Dublin the Summer was so short. I stayed in my jumper the whole Summer it took me a long time to get use to the cold over there.
Have a lovely Summer holiday....:)

Heartwarming pictures, and a taste of nostalgia for the sunny summer I first went to Ireland--1976. That makes it sound like I'm a world traveler, but I've been back only once, on a cold and rainy summer in 1992. Either way, Ireland is one of my favorite places in the world. Thanks for sharing with those of us who can't live there

Carmel, it was so lovely to meet you too! :-)

Jess, yes, that's our lawn, and impressive only because it the only bit of the garden that as any sort of order to it! The rest is literally a wilderness, tho I have plans...

Christin, Ireland is my favourite place and I am more than delighted to share it with you all! I feel so blessed to live here.

Beautiful photos Ciara! While the lovely Summer is here I think a post with photos of our Summers in Grangewood and Forest Park deserve a post. I think anyone over 30 would really relate to them. I'm sure pops could dig some out.

outdoor yoga! I'm jealous! And of course of your views... living in a housing estate myself, there are no views from my garden, just the backs of other houses, and the supermarket car park... unless of course you lay out the play quilt and lie on your back, with your little daughter by your side, then you have the most beautiful view of blue skies and drifting clouds, framed by lavendar and rosemary! ...on a nice day at least!
