Sorry To Mention It, But...

I won't say I am uninspired at the moment, though I have been reading that a number of other bloggers are feeling just so. And I do go through periods that are harder to find inspiration in, as we all do. At the moment though, it's more a time restriction thing for me! And by that I mean a lack of free time to sit at my computer, and also, I guess, the time of year.

But, and don't kill me for saying this, Autumn is on the way! I'm sure it's not for everyone, but it certainly is here. It's in the air that's that little bit cooler first thing in the morning. And in the darkening evenings. It's in the sound of the sea too. A slightly boomier sound that has a bit of an edge to it as it pounds the shingle outside our windows.

And I love it. I do.

Autumn is my very favourite time of year. We are more likely to get beach days in September than July here. And even though they will be back in school in just over a week, I can't help but jump up and down a bit about it, in spite of my aversion to that particular thought.

It's when I get itchy fingers, and I find myself pulling out all the little things that got abandoned.

And once the fire is lit... well, let's just say I am in my element.

I too have waves of inspiration. I have the constant struggle of enjoying life online & that of really living it. I research & research but at times realize I don't really make "it" happen for myself. I'm glad I found your lovely blog. This too shall pass & like you said once the cooler months arrive it's not as hard to sit indoors & write. Enjoy those last summer days! :D deb

I have always found August to be a most uninspiring month. Everything, including myself, seems wilted and tired. But you are so right...autumn is coming...fires to be lit, pumpkin pies to be made...the very best time of the year!

Oh ciara, I am so with you..... I love Autumn, and I confess I am itching to get time to myself when boys are back at school.
I love having my boots on, and layers of clothes, thoughts of fires and cosiness. It will be my busy time workwise, and its when I am at my best. Yippee!

Autumn is my favorite time too. All the indoor activities that we put off during the summer we can now turn our minds to.

I'm with you completely. Autumn is my favorite season. Give me pumpkins and apples and the smell of fallen leaves all swirled in with the scent of woodsmoke--magic!

hey ciara. well i did enjoy the freedom of wearing less clothes this summer...not having to think about bundling up in coats & scarves (it was still warm in the rain!!) but i must admit i did have a sneeky thought today about the prospect of being 'allowed' to light the fire again soon, yay! how is the house coming on? we're having our sliding doors fitted in the morning and then knocking the extension through to the main house next week - bring it on! x
