The Little Boy Who Made.

There is a wonder afoot in our house. A cascade of creativity.
This little boy just can't stop making. He has entered his 'heart' phase, when all things grip him in a passion, and he just has to get it out onto paper.

At the moment it's all about super-heros of one kind or another. In particular, Ben 10. And every day I am amazed at the things he knows. The things he is learning away from my eyes.

It was no surprise that he lost his first baby tooth today, in the midst of this explosion of expression. It feels as though the time has come for his super-hero to be revealed.

This wee gyroscope that is our middle son has in the last year outgrown his position of one of the babies in the house. He lives such a physical existence and he is  so strong,  that at times, as he bounces around to try and figure out where his new place is in our little family it's too much for one or another of his siblings.

(This photo from the Solstice Party Summer 2006, from Lisa's archives. Thanks Lisa!)

But his heart is big and generous and bursting with enthusiastic life, and it's impossible to ignore.

This left me teary eyed! It's fascinating to watch the little ones grow.....how they can change in a matter of days, hours, minutes, seconds.....

Oh, you know, my son is turning 6 this week and lost his first tooth recently. He has definitely been on the creative spurt super hero grand dramas and super busy spurt the past few weeks and I love watching every moment.

What a lovely way to see it as a whole and honor the move to the next phase!

It´s fascinating to see a product of yourself turn into a person with their own feelings, thoughts and ideas....you can only borrow them for a short while and then you have to let them go and hopefully your values and love will be kept in their hearts and minds....

Dear Ciara, I'm in tears as I reply. To know that they learn so much 'away from our eyes' has me in a total soppy mess.

I recall Ru drawing like that, and you used to say something similar, that he had to put it on paper and I was always amazed that he never even looked at them after that. It wasn't about having them, but making the images was what mattered.

Such a look of artistic pride in his perfect wee face. And so much artwork for Mom to treasure forever. And, I do so love the names of your boys...Ben and Edmund. Really wonderful names. And, love photos as always!

Oh, Ciara,

What a handsome guy! This post--It warms and fills my heart...

I love this age! The purity of their heart's expression, their entire embodiment. The perfect sythensis of cherubic babe and little man... Don't ever let him squirm completely out of being simpatico to "hugs from mom"!

Adorable...
