The Sun Came Out.

It did. Finally.

We were like starving creatures,
we grabbed it with both hands.

It gives them wings to fly, releasing them from our birdcage house,
free to fly, to fly, to fly.

How easily we slip back into it's warmth.
Savouring it like a balm.

Did I even realise how it's absence made me sad?

Sometimes, happiness is simply this simple.

I know - isn't it amazing how quickly we Irish forgive the weather once we get a sunny day. I hope it lasts until they go back to school at the very least.

Beautiful, Ciara. You really capture the joy of a sunny day after an unreasonable bout of rain in Ireland. I love the place, but sometimes I wonder how we ever came to migrate to such a cold soggy spot. Then one day down in Ceide Fields, I read that when humans first arrived in Ireland it had a climate similar to Portugal. I guess we are just very loyal. "Ah, sure it's not that bad!"

Portugal! Wow... imagine... On a sunny day in Ireland, anywhere in Ireland, I always think, 'why would anyone want to be anywhere else in the world?' Honestly. Just a little bit more guaranteed sunshine and we'd be perfect! Not too much tho because then we wouldn't be so green... (he he!)

Thanks for your lovely words Pamela!

And Lorna, well, it hasn't lived up to it's promise so far. Oh well. I'm really holding out for a nice September.
