Lately. A song by Vashti Bunyan.

Never was much given to prayer
But lately I'm pleading with the air
To keep you safe from harm my dears

The only thing that you should keep in rows
Are your perfect teeth - and the rest you know
It's own sweet way will always go

Add your footsteps to the wear
For a tiny dent in every stair
Will let them know that you've been there

I love all the Ladybird books. How many generations are they on now?

Dad is great at picking them up, tho there is definitely a good few from our day, including the first book I ever read by myself, Rumplestilskin. ( I think. Hmm...must check that...)

The Rumplestilskin terrified me when we were kids! The painting of him stomping his foot through the floor at the end...ugh. I recently discover that in the original story he tears himself in half with rage in the end.

I think old Rumples deserved an even break.
