We're Going On An Egg Hunt.

Yesterday, the sun did shine for us, and as we were dropping My Only Girl to her friend's house in Glenealy we decided to call into nearby Kilmacurragh Arboretum for our annual dose of splendor, in the form of Rhododendrons. And as we hadn't managed to organise an egg hunt with friends this year, we thought we'd include a little one for the wee boys in our house.

A glory for mine eyes.

I think I'm going to have to post some more photos later...

What Lies Ahead.

Continuing the theme, for a moment, of no blimmin internet, it's been frustrating to say the least. It looks set to be a bit unpredictable until it's sorted out properly, which looks likely to be after the long weekend ahead. Of course.

So in the meantime I am preparing myself for the onslaught of chocolate that Easter brings. While it's been a number of years since I first gave up sugar, this is the longest I have managed to stay off it consistently. Last Easter I found myself falling off the wagon bigtime. Think the Father/Comte de Reynaud from Joanne Harris' Chocolat. That scene. You know the one. That was me last Easter. Chocolate is my biggest weakness, and I find myself strangely fascinated that I can actually not eat it. It's just not worth the four day recovery. So here's to a year of no chocolate and to breaking out all the will power I've got to get me through the next few days!

A Week Of Pictures.

Still playing catch-up to our lost days. In no particular order, a peek at our week.

Handprints.

They couldn't wait.

The first bluebells in the garden.

Over breakfast.

Sunlight.

Littlest friends.

In the garden.

In my mirror.

Our lodgers.

An Unplanned Escape!

We have had no internet since Thursday evening! Now while I can appreciate a nice break and enjoy unplugging myself from the entire world, I do like to know in advance so I can plan for it. I kept thinking it must come back any minute now and so failed to enjoy it as I could have. So, for today it'll be a sweet song to make you smile, and hopefully later I can do a week of pictures.

Gosh it's good to be back!

And Then Came The Sun.

Thank you all for your sweet words on yesterdays post. Isn't it amazing how fast they grow? And we are all the same, us mother's, aren't we?

I suppose I am feeling nostalgic for the little boy who is gone, and it makes me all the more aware of the younger ones. And then I feel like I am not giving them enough time. And then I wonder if I am meeting their needs adequately. And then I worry!! Eeeee!

I am amazed at him. Yes, he is becoming an amazing person. And if I can get over my feelings of inadequacy then I am free to just marvel!

And so, today the sun did shine, and The Eldest was with his friends all day, playing football, and came home late and three inches taller.

And between bathing in sunlight and chasing our shadows in sun-fuelled delight, a good day was had by all.
