In Search Of Snow.

It has been snowing.

And it's the one time of year the children regret our seaside garden.

We watched as it flurried down, settling on the distant hills.
We drove through a blizzard to school.
Slowly slowly.

But back home, it just wouldn't stick around.

So we took a drive through the hills.

And paid a visit to some hillside friends for some snowy fun.

It's a rare enough treat for us to have snow, and in shops and on the streets people were full of smiles and friendly words, all rosy cheeked and jolly.
I hope it's not gone, just yet.

  5. Great pics! I have to say I'm glad the snow has taken itself elsewhere, it was so dangerous up here the last few days... cars sliding everywhere!!

  7. It's a first time visit from me, and I have enjoyed it so much, including reading older posts. Your home looks so cosy! While you are having snow our heat wave continues in South Australia, many, many days of 43 degrees celcius, and another tomorrow.I can't believe it was thirty years ago that I was a young back-packer in Ireland. Loved it!

  9. That looks like fun - we have a few feet of snow here - and after about 4 months of it we get sort of tired of it (and it lasts for 6) - so it's always refreshing for people like you to remind us what a miracle snow is...

  10. We've had about 8 inches of snow here ten miles from Carlow - novelty is starting to wear off now though we all loved it - kids, adults and the dog!
