Reverie In Times Of Happy Chaos.

While I find it hard
to pin down my thoughts
this time of year

A sense of urgency now as we race full tilt
towards the end of one thing and the beginning of another

And my seemingly endless hours spent
driving
I find if I tip my head like this
ever so slightly
there I am
out there in the green
waving to myself as I fly by on my bike
standing high on the pedals

Out there in the green
wind rushing

Out there in the green...

  1. If I tilt my head ever-so-slightly, may I join you?

  3. I love how you appreciate the beauty. If I lived in Ireland, I'd want to roll around in that glorious lovely green.

Have a beautiful summer weekend Ciara!

  4. Life does sometimes seem like a race full tilt, I agree.

I hoe you have time this year to stop and smell the roses and the honeysuckle.

  5. Good way of making the endless driving more pleasant. I used to do the same on the exercise bike, but now I've given up that bike!
Lovely pictures too, Ciara. Have a fun weekend.

  7. A jewel of words and images. Oh GREEN! Here on my mountain the grasses are already turning gold--some of them past gold to color between plum and garnet for which I have no name. You have me feeling as though I live two places simultaneously.

Thanks for the warm comment at my blog.

  10. Lovely :) You've got me all nostalgc for free-wheeling down country brays. God, there were so many less cars on the road back then! Anyway, on another note, those are the first foxgloves I've seen this year. You know, things must sprout sooner down your end of the country 'cause I remember seeing bluebells here about a month before they popped there heads up round these parts. Or maybe it's just your garden. Yup, I''d say that's it; your home seems like a special place :)

  11. Love the little poem. I also want to be out there in the green. After work each day, 9 or more hours cooped inside with stale air and irritating lighting, my body craves to be out in the fresh air among the plants.
