The weekend has been glorious. Summer has finally, suddenly arrived. But today, a heavy sea mist clung to the coast, engulfing the beach, our house, the harbour. But half a kilometer inland was blazing sun and blue sky. On the way home from a jaunt into Bray we just had to stop the car. This last picture is a view of Greystones from the Windgates road. (You can click on it to see it bigger.) From that height we could see that the mist was sitting on top of the sea. That expanse of white is cloud. As The Little One said: Like the clouds got tired and fell on the sea.
I've never seen anything like it.
It made me think: what wonders do we never see simply because we are not in the right place, or worse, because we have our heads down, stuck in our lives?
Ed is a poet. He's just to young to realise it yet. What a strange photo.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely...and so true. Oh how I love your sweet blog.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Our neighbours were in Brittas today and were totally enveloped in sea mist.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos as always.
ReplyDeletethats eery! I wonder could you see it if you were in it?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, you have an eye for a good shot.
ReplyDeleteYour right, we don't stop enough to take in the view, our lives are 'too busy'. I love Edmunds comment.
I find most in this series of photos so strangely not you! I would have been convinced they were taken by someone else. Bizaar......
